⚠️ Is this the right guide for you?

This article is specifically for accounts where BOTH conditions are met:

  1. Country: India

  2. Base Currency: INR (₹)

If you are located elsewhere or use a different currency (like USD), please check the correct guide:

🔥 Quick Summary

India-based Nas.io businesses follow a regulated, tax-inclusive fee structure.

Each paid transaction includes:

  • Nas.io platform fee

  • Payment gateway fee

  • 18% GST applied to both fees

  • Applicable withholding tax (WHT), processed during payout

Payments are processed in INR via Razorpay or Stripe India.

Your payout is calculated as:

Gross Amount – (Platform Fee + Gateway Fee + GST + WHT)

⭐ What Are the Transaction Fees in India?

Every paid transaction in India includes three components:

1️⃣ Nas.io Platform Fee

This is the service fee for using Nas.io’s tools and infrastructure.

The rate depends on your subscription plan:

  • Platinum: 2.9%

  • Pro: 4.9%

  • Basic: 5.9%

2️⃣ Payment Gateway Fee

Charged by the payment processor (Razorpay or Stripe India) to process the transaction.

Rate: 2.2%
(Applies to cards, UPI, wallets, and net banking.)

3️⃣ Government Taxes (Mandatory)

India requires taxes on digital services:

  • GST (18%) applies to both the Platform Fee and Gateway Fee.

  • TDS (Withholding Tax) may be deducted from your payout depending on your business classification, in accordance with Indian regulations.

Your earnings = Gross amount − Platform fee − Gateway fee − Taxes

🧮 How GST Works

GST (18%) is calculated on:

  • The Nas.io platform fee

  • The payment gateway fee

It is not applied to the full transaction amount — only to the fees.

💰 Final Payout Calculation

Your payout is calculated as:

Gross Amount – (Platform Fee + Gateway Fee + 18% GST on fees + applicable TDS)

📌 Important

  • Payments are processed in INR via Razorpay or Stripe India

  • TDS (Withholding Tax) may be deducted based on your business classification, as per Indian regulations

🎫 Did you know that you can Pass on fees to members?

You can choose to pass payment gateway fees directly to your buyers so you keep more of your revenue.

To enable this, go to Business Portal → Money → Fees and toggle “Pass on fees to members” ON.

💳 Why Do Transaction Fees Exist?

Transaction fees help ensure your payments are processed securely and reliably.

These fees cover:

  • Secure payment processing

  • Fraud detection and protection

  • Banking infrastructure

  • Platform reliability and uptime

  • Customer support

  • Ongoing product improvements

Nas.io reinvests these fees to keep your business tools fast, stable, and compliant as you grow.

📝 In Summary

Your subscription plan directly affects how much you keep from each sale in India.

  • Basic provides access to core tools with standard platform fees.

  • Pro reduces your platform fee as your business grows.

  • Platinum offers the lowest platform fee for higher-volume sellers.

India’s fee structure differs from the US and Global markets due to mandatory GST (18%), possible TDS (withholding tax), and INR-based processing through local payment providers.

Choose the plan that best matches your sales volume and growth stage.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: What are the transaction fees for Basic, Pro, and Platinum in India?

A: Transaction fees depend on your subscription plan.

  • Platinum: 2.9% platform fee

  • Pro: 4.9% platform fee

  • Basic: 5.9% platform fee

In addition, a 2.2% payment gateway fee applies to all transactions.

📌 18% GST is calculated on both the platform fee and the gateway fee.
📌 TDS (Withholding Tax) may also apply depending on your business classification.

Q: Which fees apply if my customers are in different countries?

A: Fees are based on your business account’s country and base currency — not your customer’s location.

👉 Rule of thumb: Your business location determines your fees.

For example:
If your business is set up as India (INR), India fees apply — regardless of where the customer is located.

Q: What is Withholding Tax (TDS)?

A: In India, payment processors are required by law to deduct a small percentage as Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) before transferring your payout.

This is a government regulation — not a Nas.io fee.

You can view these deductions in your payout details.

Q: If I’m based in India (INR) and my members are in the US, how can they pay?

A: International members can pay using major credit or debit cards.

Local Indian payment methods (such as UPI or net banking) may not be available for cross-border customers due to processing regulations.

Q: Can members use UPI for subscriptions?

A: Yes, members can use UPI to purchase subscriptions. However, auto-renewal is not supported.

Members must manually approve the payment for each billing cycle.

Q: Can I pass gateway fees to customers?

A: Yes. You can enable “Pass on fees to members” in your payment settings.

Q: What currency will I be paid in?

A: All India payouts are processed and paid in INR, following Razorpay or Stripe India payout schedules.
