Link Your WhatsApp Group to Nas.io

Updated this week

In this article

🔥 Quick Summary

Connecting WhatsApp with Nas.io automates member access.

  • What it does: Automatically sends a unique entry link to members immediately after they pay or sign up.

  • What it saves: No more manually copying/pasting links or adding phone numbers one by one.

  • Important: You need to be an Admin of the WhatsApp group to connect it.

🚀 Why Connect WhatsApp?

Using automation is safer and faster than sharing a public public link.

  1. Controlled Access: Only people who successfully sign up (or pay) receive the entry link via email and their Nas.io dashboard.

  2. Reduced Leaks: You avoid posting a public link on social media that spammers can find.

  3. Instant Access: New members get instant access 24/7 without waiting for you to wake up and approve them.

💡 Did You Know? You can also send direct messages to your members' WhatsApp accounts right from your dashboard! To learn more about WhatsApp messaging via Magic Reach, click here.

⚙️ How to Set Up the Automation

  1. Go to SettingsChat.

  2. Find WhatsApp and click Connect.

  3. Authenticate: You will be asked to verify your phone number (the one linked to the group).

  4. Select Group: Choose the specific group you want to link to this business.

    • Note: You must be an Admin of that group to link it.

📱 How to Add Your Groups

Step 1: Have your WhatsApp Group Ready Before connecting, ensure you have a group ready in WhatsApp.

  • Existing Groups: If you have an active business group, you can link it immediately.

  • New Groups: You must create the group inside the WhatsApp app first. Once it exists, come back here to link it.

🛡️ Privacy & Admin Visibility

WhatsApp displays Admin phone numbers to all group members. If you connect a personal WhatsApp number, members will be able to see it and may contact you directly.

For better privacy, use a WhatsApp Business number or a dedicated business phone/SIM.

🛑 Limitations & "Auto-Removal" Reality

1. Group Size Limits

WhatsApp groups currently have a limit (approx. 1,024 members). If your business grows beyond this, you may need to start a second group or migrate to WhatsApp Communities (announcement style).

2. Member Management is NOT Supported

When a member cancels or stops paying:

  • Nas.io: Marks the member as inactive

  • WhatsApp: Does not automatically remove them

  • WhatsApp does not allow third-party tools to force-remove members.

  • You will need to manually remove inactive members from the group when needed.

Note: This is a privacy restriction enforced by the WhatsApp API, not a limitation of Nas.io.

WhatsApp does not allow third-party tools to delete members to protect user privacy. You can read more about their data practices in the WhatsApp Privacy Policy.

📝 In Summary

  • Automation: Nas.io handles the invite links automatically 24/7 immediately after a member joins.

  • The Workflow: Create your group in WhatsApp first ➡️ Link it in your Nas.io Settings.

  • Privacy: Your phone number is visible to the group, so we recommend using a WhatsApp Business number.

  • Important Limitation: While entry is automated, removal is manual. You must remove inactive members from the group yourself.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  1. Q: Can I link multiple WhatsApp groups to one business?
A: No, the automation links to one primary discussion group per business.

  2. Q: I clicked "Connect," but I don't see an option to create a new WhatsApp group. Why? A: The integration allows you to link groups, not generate them. You must create your group directly inside the WhatsApp app first. Once created, refresh this page, and your new group will appear in the list to connect.

  3. Q: What happens if I change my phone number?
A: You will need to update your WhatsApp settings and re-connect the automation in Nas.io to ensure the invite links still work.

  4. Q: Does Nas.io moderate my chat?
A: No. Nas.io handles the entry (invites). Moderation, banning users, and deleting messages must be done by YOU inside the WhatsApp app.
