Updated today

Affiliates can play a crucial role in the success of a community. It helps promote the community to new audience, driving more traffic and potential members. By maximizing the affiliates feature, communities can increase their visibility and credibility, as collaborating with fellow user/creator can help increase the community earnings.

Turning On Affiliate for Products

NOTE: All community managers can access the affiliate settings page and enable products that will have affiliates.

Under Marketing category, go to Affiliates tab.

1. All paid products will automatically appear in the Products tab under Affiliates. If a community is paid, its subscription will also be listed automatically.

2. CM can toggle on/off to decide if they want to recruit affiliates for a certain product.

3. CM needs to set the rate and give an introduction when enable a product for affiliate.

4. Once the product is enabled for affiliate, CM can copy the application link. The link will bring the user to the corresponding product public page with affiliate application.

How commissions are calculated?

Commissions are calculated from the Net Income the community managers get from the product.

Net Income = Amount Paid by Member - Platform Fees

You may check this article to learn more about Nas.io fees

For example, if a paid item is priced at $100 and the platform fee is 5%, the CM’s net income would be:

$100 − ($ 100×0.05)= $95.00 USD

If this sale occurs through an affiliate who receives a 30% commission, the calculation will be:

Affiliate Earnings (member)

$ 95× 0.30 = $ 28.5 USD

Community Managers Earnings

$ 95 x 0.70 = $ 66.5 USD

You will see the breakdown of the transactions like this:

For community subscriptions, affiliates will only earn a commission on the first payment. They will not receive commissions for subscription renewals.

Who Can Apply as Affiliates

Only community members can apply to become affiliate. If an external person wants to become an affiliate, user needs to join the community and become a member first.

How to Apply to Become an Affiliate

The affiliate program in the community is only available to members, so members just need to Apply and Confirm. There will be no approval and additional information required when applying to be an affiliate.

Members can see the "Become Affiliate" button on the product public page, if the product is enabled for affiliate.

If there is affiliate program available in the community, on the profile dropdown menu, there is a "Become an affiliate" button as a shortcut.

Affiliate of the Community

When a member becomes an affiliate, they become an affiliate for the entire community. This means they can have affiliate links for all the products that have affiliate enabled.

If CM disables one product for affiliate, and enables another one, the affiliate links for the disabled product will automatically become invalid. The newly enabled product will then appear in the list of products available to affiliates.

How can your affiliates view their earnings

Affiliates can view their earnings in the Affiliates tab > Payout section

To cash out their commissions earned, affiliates must connect their preferred bank account and choose their desired payout currency.

They will be provided with the list of information we require for us to be able to send them their payouts.

Details required for your payout (Sample form)

The information we will collect may vary depending on the country you selected for your bank address.

You will have the option to select the currency of the payout you would like to receive. Currently, we are supporting the following currency for payouts: USD, ARS, AUD, BRL, GBP, CAD, CLP, COP, EUR, HUF, INR, IDR, ILS, JPY, MYR, MXN, PEN, PHP, SGD, AED, UYU, VND.

Once your details are filled in, read our Terms of Use and select the box to consent to them if you agree.

Minimum payout amount for affiliates is 10 USD. If you have not reached 10 USD, your commissions will be carried over to the next month until you reach the 10 USD threshold.

Affiliate payouts are processed on the 16th of every month.

Refunds and Chargeback

If there are cases of refunds and disputes for affiliates, the commission earned from the refunded/disputed amount will be deducted from the affiliate earnings.

For example, member "A" purchased product "P1" from the affiliate link of user "A2". But member A requested a refund for P1. A2's commission will be deducted since A's money was refunded.

Same goes with chargeback if the case is won by the member. The commission earned will be reverted.
