🔥 Quick Summary
The Slack connection acts as your community's Automated Receptionist.
Nas.io is the front desk (where people sign up and pay).
Slack is the office (where the work and collaboration happen).
The Connection is the receptionist who automatically hands them a keycard.
It automates the Invitation Process. Instead of manually inviting members one by one, Nas.io triggers an official email invite immediately after they sign up.
✅ What it DOES
Think of this automation as a greeter at the door.
Opens the Door: When a new member joins your Nas.io community, the receptionist immediately sends an invite link to their email.
Saves You Time: It eliminates the need for you to copy-paste email addresses into Slack's "Invite People" menu every single time.
Syncs Entry: It ensures that every paying customer gets a prompt invitation to your workspace.
❌ What It Does NOT Do
Important: This receptionist handles entry only, not security or management.
Does NOT Manage Channels: It invites the user to the general Workspace. It does not automatically add them to specific private channels (like #vip-lounge). You must set up your default channels inside Slack.
Does NOT Auto-Remove: If a member cancels their subscription, the receptionist does not take their keycard away. You must manually deactivate their account in Slack to revoke access.
Does NOT Moderate: It does not post messages or moderate chat. It simply gets the user through the front door.
⚠️ Note on Automation: Please be aware that the lack of member management feature is due to API restrictions imposed by Facebook, not a limitation of Nas.io. Most social platforms restrict third-party tools from removing members to protect user privacy.
⚙️ How to Connect
Prerequisite: You must be an Admin or Owner of the Slack Workspace.
Go to Settings: Log in to your Nas.io Portal and go to Settings → Chat.
Select Slack: Click Connect Slack.
Authorize: You will be redirected to Slack. Log in and allow Nas.io to access your workspace.
Confirm: Once authorized, the receptionist is on duty!

📝 In Summary
Before you connect, remember these three rules of the Receptionist:
It Handles Entry: It automatically emails an invite link to new members.
Removal is Manual: If someone leaves your community, you must manually deactivate them in Slack.
Workspace-Wide: It invites users to the Workspace, not specific private channels.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: Does this work with free Slack workspaces?
A: Yes. You can connect Nas.io to both Free and Paid Slack plans.Q: Can I connect to specific channels only?
A: No. The connection invites the user to the entire Workspace. Use Slack's internal settings to control which channels new members see by default.Q: What happens if the user already has a Slack account? A: If their email matches an existing account in your workspace, nothing changes. If they are new, they get an invite to join.
Q: Do I need to manually invite people anymore? A: No! As long as they join via Nas.io, the invites go out automatically. You only need to manually invite people who didn't come through your Nas.io page.
